Nonsense if you ask me, whatever you think about the monarchy she was 96 years old. There should be celebrations for reaching that age, instead the country is grinding to a halt when there is already economic strife. Forcing people to mourne is not the way.

Ready to take my stoning.

I agree. Thousands of people gathering together, with family, friends and fellow fans that feel like family, paying their respects would be so fitting. A minutes silence, a minutes celebration, banners, songs, there are many better ways to pay respect than 'do nothing'.

There are some traditions that need to catch up with the times and public sentiment. With the passing of a great Queen ,who it's been said has modernised the monarchy and has moved with a changing world, this should have been an opportunity to do what she might have done.

What I think may happen is over the next few days, an increasing amount of people will, after initial respect, start to consider the mourning period excessive. At the same time, looking forward with apathy at what is left of  the Royal family.

The Queen was the glue.

Many will start to think of "modernization" of the monarchy as the time to downscale it and that will go beyond simple republicans.

You won't see it immediately, but it will surface a little further down the line.

Players must have the weekend off. Just seen matondo getting on the Gatwick flight I got off at Glasgow airport. Good to know they are using the time well. They don’t need to work of anything just now.

You never know, he might have a medical or family situation to deal with but if it was up to me, I'd still be kicking their arses for their disgraceful performances at the Piggery and in Amsterdam.

I'm with you bud.

I always kinda liked the way the Irish did funerals.

Irish wakes are a party, drinking, dancing, singing.

I would rather someone be laughing and singing with happy memories of me when I kick.

I understand the gravity of this death as she was your queen, but as the head of the CoE she should be in a much better place.

That is a cause for a celebration IMO.

No disrespect intended but I just know how I would want others to think of me.

Well, well, well, that certainly sounds like good craic.

Well I have never been to one but it sure sounds like it beats the Hell out of Baptist funerals.

We just cry, throw you in the ground, say a prayer, and call it a day.

But then Baptists aren't supposed to drink...supposed to.

Now I have been to a Mexican funeral...pretty good...carne asada, enchiladas, good beer...if you like Mexican beer...it was a pass.

Wonder if our midweek game will be off ,fingers crossed 😉

Don't see why it should be off.

I've heard mention that policing may be an issue but don't fully understand why.

English cricket team are resuming the Test match in London, TODAY.

There is rugby and golf on as well.
