Yesterday was almost comical in the extreme, as we pounded their goal for the best part of 70 mins with no luck whatsoever, yet they score with the 2 chances they had. IMHO, yesterday was a typical shit-happens game, not so much any indication about our capabilities. In fact, just before the 2nd went in, we made a rather good attacking change, only for our defenders to have the second brain-f@rt of the day. That's as may be but we're here to win the league and the hard reality is we've dropped 5 out of the last 9 points while our challenger has dropped 3 points all season. Results count, not a catalogue of excuses. Nothing I can see, including the return of injured players, is going to rescue another botched Premiership campaign.

ascender 352
I think I'm right in saying that Gio's average results over the piece, until recently, compared favourably to Gerrard's? But were we not also ahead in the league when he came in? It's hard to not be a bit cynical about the injuries given some of the things that have been in Gio's control this year - i.e. we signed Souttar when we still had Helander on the books. Roofe should have been replaced in the summer along with Jack imo. But even with them back, does anybody have great confidence in Gio based on what we've seen so far? I still go back to his first game (not) in charge where he saw that semi final with Hibs which highlighted some of the issues which needed sorting immediately... and he started his first game in charge with those same players in place who had performed so shambolically in the cup.

Probably correct. The board probably think injuries have a lot to do with our problems. I’d say they’re only partly correct, the manager needs to evaluate his tactics & game plans which are entirely predictable. Can he do that? Can we maybe play 2 up front?
