I'd like to see a Nagelsmann-esque 3-5-2:

McLaughlin

Sands - Goldson - King

Lundstram

Tavernier - Tillman - Lowry - Kent

Morelos - Colak

It won't happen, though, because GvB is not that type of manager: he doesn't know how to implement it.

It'll continue to be the 4-2-3-1 / 4-3-3. It'll continue to be very organised and possession-based. Not bad in itself, but you need a way of penetrating deep blocks. Our transition play is quite good, but that doesn't work against the domestic diddies.

There have definitely been improvements in the build-up, but the play in the final third is non-existent: It's like GvB just leaves it to a player's individual quality to unlock defences. There's no cohesive game-plan in place, a la Them

We certainly have the players for it and it solves several of the issues we have. RW leaking goals.

The trouble is we have 2 x 5 million quid left backs not playing there.

Yilmaz can play in place of Kent, which probably suits his game - he's very offensive.

Who's the other?
