Sands should definitely have been off.

I don't think the elbow in his face was worthy of a card.  The Ross County player was looking the other way and there was no intent.

The officials in Scotland are flippin' useless.

Sands worries me. Though he was excellent v PSV he always seems as though CB is not his natural position; he often gets caught wrong side. We either need to get Helander fit or prioritise a left central defender over such as Raskin. Unless Leon King can work alongside Goldson?

I think Sands prefers to play a deeper defensive line, based on yesterday's errors.

I'm sure the coaches will have noted that and they'll work on it.

I like the look of King.  Doesn't take any shit but maybe a bit too inexperienced to be relied upon.

After contesting MOTM votes for the last few weeks, including a superb win in Eindhoven, you want to flaunt your wisdom by damning Sands with faint praise because he "worries " you. Give me strength.

Jimmy Sands deserved one yellow card yesterday. Not the one he got but the one he didn't get. Which is classic Scottish refereeing.

the trouble is if that second one is a foul its a red not a yellow.

Having seen it again he should have been off.

There are no end of "should haves" in football. It's of no importance. Lundstram was sent off when he shouldn't have been. Sands vice versa. It's history, who cares.

True but we can be honest about it when we are assessing his performance yesterday.

I made this point in the MotM thread: why do we need to drop a player just because he has flaws? He needs to play to iron out these flaws. That's the only way he improves. As long as he has the tools, give him the games.

I'll say it again: Bassey was terrible at CB in his first few games.

Not suggesting we drop him necessarily; Bassey was always capable of playing either position but I'm sure you'll agree he's better at LB. if he follows the Bassey route I'll be delighted.
