[FT] Hibernian 2 - 2 Rangers (Tavernier 45' pen; Lawrence 58')

I think Collum does his inept best without too much obvious bias.

When he sees what he thinks is a red card incident, instead of reaching for the ticket, he needs to walk over to the scene of the crime, thinking as he goes and make the decision on arrival. A few seconds of contemplation always beats impetuousity.

You said you have never seen him referee a game not involving Rangers so I would imagine it difficult for you to make such comparisons.

Scottish referees regularly get things wrong. It is not just Scottish footballers who have went downhill over the past decades.

If you want to say he is a cheat, get off the fence and just come out with it.

The only referee who gives me bad vibes is Clancy.

I make no comparison.

I merely suggest that if his regular performances are as poor as those he delivers when officiating Rangers, then it is hard to believe that he remains a referee in the Premier League.

As for Rangers' matches - his handling speaks for itself.

As you point out, he is not alone.

He gave us the benefit of the doubt on penalty decisions at both ends in the first half.

Strange that, if he has it in for us.

Naw, Collum is a particular type of ref, but he isn't a cheat.

...

How do you explain the difference between the Hibernian player's first half yellow card and Lundstram's second half red card?

You, along with many over-egg the pudding, IMO.

There is ONE glaring mistake/inconsistency, the Lundstram red.

There are other tight calls that are up for debate.

It'll be more interesting to see what the ref says when we appeal it.

I posted this in the PL thread, but it might be appropriate here:

Trippier was just sent off for Newcastle for a tackle similar to Lundstram's yesterday - perhaps even more dangerous.

VAR has reviewed it and it's been overturned.

It's a tactical foul. Yellow is fair.

There was another, similar challenge earlier in the game which was also a yellow.

Anyone who thinks the likes of Kevin Clancy, Willie Callum, Frank Conner, Alan Mulvaney, Don Robertson will change their mind after the usual mind blowing decisions because VAR is available is a much better man than me.

And you won't be asking him to mark your card for Newmarket?

He certainly did his bit at the Piggery today.

I am told:

Fouls
Hearts 12
Dhims 11
Hearts 7 booked and 2 reds
Dhims no bookings

They are so confident that they may now flaunt their flouting of the rules.
