GvB probably preferred to go with the most used CB pairing for such a big match.  Davies has only started once.

 

Not sure why you're making a big thing of it when there's such an obvious explanation.

I thought Goldson was beaten in the air by a big powerful player. Goldson has never been particularly strong in the air for me, so he will lose aerial duels when he comes up against someone strong in that area. The issue is that without Helander we don’t have others in the team who are strong in the air either.

The tactic next week at corners and set pieces should be to simply stop there big guys getting a free run and jump, block their run, legally of course.
