Villa 1 down v West Ham. Really surprised that they didn’t bring more players in during the summer. Gerrard was mumping his chops that the Rangers board didn’t back him, he’s hardly done well with the cash the Villa board have given him tbh.

Needs results soon or he’ll be seeing much more of his family than he’d have hoped.

The ghost of Beale haunts him with every passing week.

That was a huge win for West Ham but its papering over the cracks. Moyes is slowing being found out - and like Gerrard has no tactical noise.

Good to see Arsenal flying high and Potter is a breathe of fresh air at Brig-a-ton.

Shelf life for a Premiership manager down south is much longer than in Scotland.

Moyes has been at WHU for nearly 3 years. Not one current top flight manager in Scotland has been in a job that long.

Only 3 managers (15%) have been appointed in EPL since Gerrard joined Villa.

In Scotland, 7 have (58%).

Villa were poor at the end of last season when Beale was still there.

Its ironic he left Rangers complaining he wasn't financially backed by the board.

I genuinely expected the Villa Board to give him some serious funds.

Net spend would be a more useful number to know.
