Think we are all disappointed but losing the final shouldn't detract from the achievement and rewards (both financial and reputation wise) of getting to a major European final. Calvin Bassey apart, losing the final in the way we did has enhanced neither.

Yes, yes, reaching the final has impoverished Rangers. Few understand this.

The major (game-changing) financial rewards was very much for the winner. I think some may refer to it as a sliding doors moment. 4M for winner Super Cup for winner CL pot one and money for winner As far as reputation is concerned, many people who won't have seen much of our European run will have watched the Final. Bassey apart, our players, individually and collectivelly didn't do themselves justice and won't be remembered by European neutrals. It's more disappointing because we know they are capable of so much more. Edited May 20, 2022 by buster.

There's nothing good about losing a final. Nothing whatsoever. Great we got there but that's in the past now. Accepting defeat is a very long way from seeing it as "good". Accepting defeat is merely acknowledging reality. I haven't heard anyone say it was good to lose. How someone deals with defeat and disappointment tells you a great deal more about them than victory ever will.
MacK1950 2,454
What gets me is that we lost in such a crap way but we must remember the was akin to an away game and as such,Dortmund excepted,we achieved a similar result as most of the away games.
