Now up to Ross Wilson to facilitate Gerrard's successor in a timely fashion. This is Ross Wilson’s biggest test yet. Rousseau 9,800
I'm actually quite excited. I've been quite unimpressed and bored by our performances this season.

Who did he appoint at Southampton? Was he responsible for Hasenhuttl? Edit: Claude Puel, Mauricio Pellegrino, Mark Hughes and Hasenhuttl... Eek!

There’s certainly a potential upside but the risk is big so I’m nervous. With the right appointment we could get a real bounce and a freshness to our tactics, but that is a best case scenario.

I feel the same. I'd rather not be changing managers in mid season but I've had a feeling for a while of the team being stuck in a rut and unable to move forward. It's always a risky time (Pedro) but this could be a chance to make progress again.

It doesn’t look like he’s done too well there.

Pellegrino and Hughes were poor. I rate Hasenhuttl quite highly, though. I don't know what we can draw from these appointments, other than a safe pair of hands (Puel and Hughes) and looking for an exciting coach (Pellegrino and Hasenhuttl), maybe?

I did mean Hasenhuttl but I don’t watch the EPL, I just did a quick search and saw he’d finished 12th in his first full season but then dropped to 15th in his second season.
