Super_Ally 0
Official match review Reserves Lose to Saints RANGERS Reserves started their league campaign with a 3-1 defeat to St. Mirren at Love Street this afternoon. Steven LennonIan Durrant was to field a young starting line-up for today's fixture and the Gers' backline was caught cold after only two minutes of play. Former Kilmanock and Ross County forward Alex Burke played in Billy Mehmet and the striker fired the ball past Calum Reidford to give the home side the perfect start. The Paisley side were to double their advantage on 21 minutes when Mehmet turned provider with a neat pass to Stephen O'Donnell and the former Clyde man unleashed a fierce volley into the net. It was not looking good for the Light Blues at this stage but they were to get back into the match on 32 minutes when Steven Lennon made the most of a defensive mix-up before producing a typically clinical finish. The goal gave Rangers hope at the start of the second-half and they came out with renewed determination but could not find a way past goalkeeper Mark Howard. The Saints made them pay with 13 minutes of the match remaining when a French trialist was given space and he rocketed the ball home to secure three points for his side. RANGERS: Reidford, Lowing, Donald (Efrem 45), Smith, Gallacher (van den Broeck 45), Furman (Campbell 75), Emslie, Shinnie, Michetschlager, Loy, Lennon Only thing we can take from that is the team is essentially our youths. alot of last year's double winning u19s in there. Not familiar with Donal, Gallacher or Michetschlager though.

calscot 0
Still don't understand why the likes of Sebo don't get a game. A few goals might get his confidence up. Our reserve team should REALLY be something like: Caroll/Smith Whitaker/Murray Webster Ehiogu Smith Burke Furman Buffel Adam Sebo Gow If they are fit enough. The young guys can play in their age group related leagues. Getting stuffed by a probably older team from the likes of St Mirren is hardly going to breed a winning mentality.

Agreed again mate,i've been saying this for ages now, especially for Sebo to try and get his scoring boots on,but for any other first team player who is'nt playing should be in the reserves for match fitness
