I don't know how much you all know about the red star. I'm from Serbia and I'm a supporter of Partizan Belgrade (I also love Rangers and that's why I'm here). We are the bitter rivals with "them" since the day one...

The public opinion here (modeled by journalist and media magnats which are "their" supporters) is that the Gers are nowhere close to other "big" European clubs which were in the draw and they are satisfied with the results. All the papers are reminscing season 1990/91 when Gers were eliminated by the red star. The "gypsies" (that's how we call them here; it's not an insult to that specific nation but rather example of our rivals mentality) proud state that in that season they later lift up the European Champion trophy... Probably, they think that they will have certain amount of luck again...

For the last two years we (Partizan fans) are in the strong boycott against our club managment so (we didn't even attended home games until recently) so "they" easilly took two double crowns (championship and cup). Even then, we destroyed them on their own playground with 4-2 in one of the most impressive displays in the last years.

There are several points for such a long post by myself... :) Fisrt, red star actually sold many key players during last year and so. They are trying to resolve that by signing doubtful South American players (one of them is actually good, he's in the first 11 of Ecuador national team and was on his way to Juventus). Style of play that red star has for the past few years can easilly be described as "tackle-kick-simulate-make incidents combination". Almost every time they "try" to play football they fail to accomplish anything special. So, they often play on counter attacks and they are very solid after the stops. I don't want to undermine them but I know that their team can't stand against the Rangers. Their only chance can be the second game which is held to be in the Serbia. They make annoying atmosphere on their ground and many teams are melted... So, Rangers should win in the first game without any goal conceded. That's the recipe...

I'll keep all ya in touch with their performances and expetations before the game against Rangers (if they eliminate the Baltic side). Before that, I'm about to watch Gers for the first time live (against Zeta) so I'm very excited (and probably mentioning that in every single post which I writing). I want you to know that every single real Partizan fan will be with his heart with Gers. Some of us, will be on the terraces to support the Gers when they come to the Belgrade.
