Whittaker signs 5 year deal

Recommended Posts

RANGERS today completed the signing of 23-year-old Steven Whittaker from Hibs and the former Hibs man could go straight into the squad for Saturday's SPL opener at Inverness.

The talented young Scot, who can play full back or in midfield, successfully passed a medical and agreed terms on a five-year contract.

He follows former team mates Ian Murray and Kevin Thomson to Ibrox and becomes Walter Smith's ninth summer signing.

Rangers have paid £2million for the highly-rated star, who was called up for international duty last year when Walter Smith was in charge of the Scotland team.

I'll need to be convinced of this signing simply because I havent seen him play :)

2 million for another Hibs player  Are we bank rolling them or something.

Welcome to the club anyway - We did need a right sided player.

I wonder could he play at left back if needed. I can see why Alan Hutton's nose was out of joint last night and he was committing all these needless fouls, he's no doubt gutted that Walter is showing no faith in him.
