[FT] Ross County 0 - 4 Rangers (Roofe 28; Tavernier 56; Morris 72 o.g.; Defoe 90+1)

Recommended Posts

As expected, County are conceding possession to us and dropping deep to ensure our attacking players have minimal space.  That's fine in itself but we're moving the ball too slowly and too many players are slipping so will need to consider a change of boots given the pitch will cut up more and become even slippier as the temperature drops.

Hopefully we can go onto grab a second goal as County have shown they can move the ball well when they get space and, if it wasn't for McGregor, we could easily have been behind as Paton found space in behind Bassey who, IMO, was far too slow in trying to get back and help Balogun.

The longer it stays at 1-0, that may mean the home side come out more but, as always, it's all about what we do.

Bassey can play centre back. Edmondson coul come in from the cold.

Edmundson received a 7 game ban just a fortnight ago.  With Goldson not playing in international matches then I'm sure he can cope with the schedule in a general sense rather than looking to make changes unnecessarily.  Barisic has been away with Croatia so is perhaps most deserving of the rest given his work-rate up and down the left flank in games.

Much as I like him, Calvin Bassey could offer more than he did in the 1st half. Seems to have lost some spark.

He's good going forward but his positional sense worries me a bit.
