Strong Side For Ajax Clash

By Emma Dodds

Walter Smith has named a strong side for tonight's clash with Ajax, making two changes from the team that started against Falkirk.

Charlie Adam and Kris Boyd have been recalled to the line-up in place of Kevin Thomson who misses out through illness and Alan Gow who has dropped to the bench.

Lee McCulloch was on target against Falkirk

Lee McCulloch scored the only goal for Gers in the Falkirk Stadium and is likely to start on the right, with Adam on the left and Brahim Hemdani and Barry Ferguson bossing the middle of the park.

Carlos Cuellar starts in the centre of defence with David Weir, with Sasa Papac and Alan Hutton on either flank.

Jean-Claude Darcheville starts up front with Boyd for the first time and will be desperate to open his scoring account on his Ibrox debut.

RANGERS: McGregor; Hutton, Weir, Cuellar, Papac; McCulloch, Hemdani, Ferguson, Adam; Darcheville, Boyd

SUBS: Carroll, Sebo, Novo, Webster, Broadfoot, Beasley, Murray, Burke, Gow, Sionko

AJAX: Stekelenburg, Heitinga, Stam, Vermaelen, Emanuelson, Maduro, Kennedy, Sneijder, Colin, Goosens, Huntelaar

SUBS: Jeijblok, Delorge, Rommedahl, Ogararu, Donald, Van Der Weil, Anita, Gentenaar
