Does anyone know if a Rangers player has ever scored from his own half before?

Im in my fifties & certainly cannot recall anything like what we saw from Roofe last night. Or even a goalkeeper scoring from a kick out

I can't remember him getting caught out. The only scare was that one at the end and that due to a Balogun mistake.

 

For me, the parts of his game that need work are probably fixable through coaching. That isn't the case for most players, so I am pretty excited about him.

 

Edit: Having said that, I would like to see what his crossing is like. A good bit of that is natural skill and not really teachable.

Bassey did well coming on but did allow the ball to pass over his head in the box without knowing who was behind him, something he has done a couple of times previously.

BTW, it has been verified that the signs he made after his goal were A and L, the initials of his daughters. Nothing to do with Anderlcht or any other stuff, he`s done it for years.

I saw it once at Muirton Park, Perth in the late 60’s. Can’t remember who did it though.
