Gribz 914
Can't agree Gribz... he was stabbed in the back at Real Madrid, and no one came in for him... he was offered security for his family for the rest of there lives.... and more. TBH he has showen great business acumen and I hope he does well. I hope he gets his 100 caps for Engerlund, and I hope he has every success.. The way he has handled himself during the past year - being dumped by McClaren - and being fook in the A by Real. Allot of respect for the way he handled it all. Im not denying that he doesnt deserve credit for the way he has fought back this year. My opinions changed on Beckham after the 98 WC and 2000 Euros when he received all that death threats, only for him to come back stronger. I thought he handled that superb. But I think there would have been a few offers coming in for him, but he went for the money option rather than the footballing one. He hardly needs the money anyway. But Milan and Newcastle definatly interested in him.

On top of that I don't think there is any doubt that both of them want to be in the movies too so what better way to give you a foot in the door than to be playing football right on the doorstep of the Hollywood movers and shakers. I actually think he would have been a fool to turn down LA's offer.

Even if it was Ronaldohino I couldnt understand the 400k a week. But for Beck: Footballing decision - sell out Money decision - Brainy one! BTW, Posh spice has absolute zero talent, she cant even sing and is easy carried by the other 4 spice girls. She will be a laughing stock in the movies.

But what if Beckham got a career ending injury whilst at Milan ? Would the offer still be there ? What if his stock in world football went down in those 2 years ? Would the offer still be there ? I doubt it. Posh will not be the first OR the last person to have ZERO talent and still make a shit load of money in the movie business. Her "move to LA" started on a syndicated network in the US last night, she is being paid about 9 million quid for it (I believe). Beckham gets $252 million for 5 years - so is about GBP 485k per week. I was watching the US "soccer" channel yesterday and LA Galaxy said that they had already sold something like 250,000 shirts. I can see why they perhaps offered him that amount of money. We also don't know the other elements to the contracts - IF LA hold his commercial rights (did Madrid not get 50% of his commercial income ??) then they could recoup a fair amount of that fee.
