Don't know if I missed this when I was awol for a wee while, but not noticed it appear on here:

SCOTLAND under-16 captain John Fleck is one of ten talented school-leavers that have now signed full-time professional contracts with Rangers.

John FleckJohn, the nephew of 80s Ibrox star Robert, secured a three-year deal with the Light Blues on May 31 and Gregg Wylde, Grant Adam, Scott Durie, Chris Scott, Darren Cole, Kal Naismith, Danny Wilson, Mark Weir and Jamie Ness have also put pen-to-paper on two or three year contracts.

The youth department's latest signings can now look forward to working at Murray Park on a full-time basis with experienced coaches such as Tommy Wilson, Billy Kirkwood and Ian Durrant while utilising the state-of-the-art facilities to fulfil their potential.

Fleck, of course, is seen by many to be one of the most promising young midfielders in the country and, despite being only 15, was a key player as Kirkwood's under-19s clinched a league and cup double in 2006/07.

The ten players that have now joined are likely to feature for the Gers' under-17 and under-19 sides in 2007/08 and everyone at the official website wishes them well at the start of their careers.

Also Shinnie has signed a 3-year deal:

ANGERS' midfielder Andrew Shinnie has capped a memorable 12 months by signing a new three-year deal with the club.

Andrew ShinnieThe Aberdeen-born youngster played a key role as Billy Kirkwood's under-19 side clinched a league and cup double in 2006/07 and his ability to push forward and score vital goals was of great importance to the team.

Gers' manager Walter Smith has been keeping close eye on Andrew's progress and had no hesitation in pushing him into his first-team squad in the latter stages of the campaign.

The 17-year-old playmaker was then handed his debut as a substitute in a 3-0 home SPL win over the Dons and also featured against Killie on May 13.

Shinnie's agent Charlie Duddy said: "We're delighted to have agreed a new deal with Rangers.

"Andrew's aim is to try and become a part of the Rangers first-team from now on."

I heard Rangers bought Fleck's family a 90 grand house a while back that will now be transferred to their name, now that he has signed.

Did that not have something to do with the fact that he lived in an area where drugs and crime were on the rise and Rangers wanted him out ASAP to stop him for getting caught up in all of it?

Heard so many good things about this kid, really hope he comes through Walter gives him a chance.

He's only 15/16 so he'll have to wait at least 12 years before WS gives him a chance.
