Robinson on laon - New Youth signing in

Recommended Posts

I know the Robinson story is an old one, but in the official site story it mentions a new youth loan signing:

RANGERS keeper Lee Robinson has joined First Division new boys Morton on-loan until April 2008.

Lee RobinsonThe Sunderland-born shotstopper is highly rated by Murray Park coaches but last season expressed a desire to move elsewhere in a bid to gain some valuable first-team experience.

Lee has already made his top-team debut in the final match of the 2005/06 campaign against Hearts, appearing as a late substitute for Ronald Waterreus, but with Allan McGregor, Roy Carroll and Graeme Smith all in Walter Smith's squad at present a loan spell could prove hugely beneficial for the 20-year-old.

The Ton enjoyed a hugely successful year under the tutelage of Jim McInally in 2006/07, gaining promotion from the Second Division, and Robinson will be hoping he can compete with the club's current number one David McGurn for a place in the manager's starting eleven.

Meanwhile, the Rangers' youth department have signed Marco Michetslaeger on a six-month loan deal.

The youngster, who is an Austrian U19 international, will be given the chance to impress in Billy Kirkwood's under-19 side in a bid to secure a longer contract with the club.
