It's looking likely.

I'm a bit too concerned about how we'll cope with them on Thursday to even consider the away tie.  Hopefully if a decision is made to play it behind closed doors it is made sharpish, for the sake of Bears planning to travel.

Guys on my bus are all booked up already. Hopefully there might be some sort of compromise possibly

SUPPORTERS will be aware of the ongoing situation with COVID-19 and will have concerns over the impact the virus will have on Rangers FC. The Club would like to update supporters regarding the upcoming matches and additional safety measures that the Club has imposed.

Rangers v Bayer Leverkusen, Thursday 12 March, and Rangers v Celtic, Sunday 15 March

The Club has taken additional safety measures including installing hand sanitiser gel dispensers in all public toilets.  Coronavirus safety information will also be displayed on the big screens at the match and has been added to the Club programme.

Safety advice includes:

Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze.

Always wash your hands when you get home or into work with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

Use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water is not available.

Put used tissues in the bin straight away and wash your hands afterwards.

Try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell.

Supporters should be aware that following direction and advice from the Club and authorities that Rangers football staff have been ordered to avoid contact with any supporters or third parties where possible.  Unfortunately, that means there will be no opportunity for photographs, autographs or meeting players or coaching staff pre or post-match.  We apologise for this inconvenience.

Bayer Leverkusen, Thursday 19 March

The Club is in continuous dialogue with Bayer Leverkusen and the authorities over this upcoming fixture. The current situation is that the match will proceed as planned with supporters attending the game but this could change quickly and dramatically in the coming days. Direction will have to be taken from the German authorities.

We appreciate the uncertainty this situation will be causing for our travelling fan base and the Club will endeavour to update supporters at every available opportunity.

Thank you for your dedication and continued support.

All football, and indeed all sport should be scrapped until this is all over. I am not one to jump on the over-reaction bandwagon, and I am aware that normal winter flu will kill far more people this winter than this virus ever will, but in view of all the facts available and the spread of this across the world with people told not to congregate, shake hands etc, then surely the players and spectators safety must come first. Footballers are sweating, spitting, having physical contact with other players, basically every single thing we are being told to avoid. Fans will be jumping about when goals are scored, coming into contact with those all around them, both in the ground, in the local bars etc, and on transport.

The only sensible precaution is to cancel the remainder of the 2019-20 season, declare it null and void, and hopefully everyone will be able to start again in the second half of 2020 with the start of the 2020-21 season. FIFA should be taking the lead here, followed by other world sporting bodies and the local associations across all sports. Playing games behind closed doors does not protect the players, staff, officials, or fans who go to public spaces to watch the games on tv.

Locally, it would be perfect for us as Rangers supporters to bin the entire season, and start again in August! No Quadruple treble, no 9IAR. That would be as good as we can expect. So come on Corona virus, get a move on and ensure this season doesn't end, ever! If the SFA tried to declare the current positions as the final positions, we must take them to court as must Hearts, Hamilton, and everyone else who would be affected by this. There is about 25% of the season remaining, nothing is decided, and can not be decided by an interim league table. It's all about sporting integrity you know!

Which teams would qualify for which European competitions, and on what basis?

Normal flu mortality is less than 1% and the WHO calculate the global death rate of COVID 19 at 3.4%. This virus will kill far far more people than any flu will. This was a f@ck up from the start as it should have been contained in Wuhan. As for the game it will be behind closed doors, no doubts on that whatsoever. Over the next few weeks life will change for everyone, at least for a while anyway.
