Engineering might have moved on but the water table certainly hasn't,  if they try and get round this and fuck it up we will have the biggest outdoor pool in world football

Lowering the pitch on it's own surely couldn't produce 6000 additional seats but if you raised the rear seats in the lower tier and sloped the lower tier more steeply you could probably do it - and without altering anyone's view or requiring anything more exotic than new earthworks and a new concrete base for the seating. The hospitality viewing in the Sandy Jardine stand might need to be sacrificed.

It can be excavated and tanked, plus pumps can be installed. But I very much doubt it would give the number of seats quoted.
