New Bids In for Naismith and McCulloch????

Recommended Posts

I'm a Boyd fan because he scores goals, and because he scores goals he is valuable to Rangers, but his critisism from Gers fans is becuase his general all round play is poor, so IMO his value isn't that great,if his all round game was much better then he would be heading to the EPL or Europe

what do you say boyd is worth? just a question

Well if West Brom are will to spend over £1 million for Craig Beattie, and Killie are looking for £2 million for Naismith ( which allegedly a couple of teams are willing to pay ) then Boydy has to be in the £4million bracket.

If Boyd was worth 3 million plus then we should bite the hand off anyone who would make an offer.

If he gets fitter and loses a pound or 8 then id be happy with him as he would be more mobile to give more to the team.

According to the Record Website its almost a done deal.

RANGERS will complete the £2million signing of Lee McCulloch within 48 hours.

In fact Walter Smith will be hoping the deal can be finalised in time for the midfielder to join them on tomorrow's flight to their German training camp.

Moves to bring the former Motherwell man back to the SPL had ground to a halt but after Wigan paid £5.3m yesterday for West Brom's Jason Koumas, a one-time Celtic target, negotiations resumed. And last night Rangers were waiting for the go-ahead to speak to McCulloch who, barring any last-minute hitches, will become Rangers boss Smith's eighth recruit this summer.

McCulloch, who has been converted from a forward to a midfield player, was a Rangers target in January when the transfer window was last open but Wigan were reluctant to sell the Scotland star at that time. However, with the signing of Koumas, also a midfield operator, everything changed and Rangers moved quickly.

Rangers last night signed Austrian Under-18 midfielder Marco Michetschlager on a six-month loan.

The 17-year-old, who can operate centrally or on the left side, has been capped at all levels in Austria and was also attracting interest from Hamburg and Getafe.

Would be good if a deal could be done before we go to Germany.

Am I the only one who gets a cold feeling when we're signing someone from Wigan for 2M because they've signed a replacement for 5.3M?

Come on, Wigan are bigger than us now!

UEFA and Scottish football chiefs have let us down. We should have at least had an Atlantic league by now, but instead we're allowing irreparable damage to our fianancial health and might never be able to compete again.

I don't understand how we can be in the same "country" as Wigan, have a huge history while they have none, have far more fans, yet be the poor relation.

How can England have 10 times the population yet have about 30 times more TV money?

To be honest, I think any Scot who has Sky Sports instead of Setanta Sports is now a traitor of the highest order.

I think Scotland is let down by Scots who watch English football, there is so much Scottish money going into the EPL and no reason at all for Sky to bid for Scottish football when so many Scots pay for Sky Sports anyway. Whereas bugger all money from England comes into Scottish football.

Even less will probably come from Setanta now they are showing English games too.

Sorry for the off topic rant but the income gap between us and very average English teams is getting frightening.
