Be it buying a car, house or some other negotiable product. This is how bidding begins. Hold Fast my fellow bears. Don't believe the hype! Yes, he said that the club has accepted a bid from another club - he also said that at this moment, the player, himeself and the other club had a lot of talking to do. If we match or better that bid then we will also get to talk to the player (who still, according to all reports, prefers to join Rangers). Jon 0 Posted July 1, 2007 Share Posted July 1, 2007 Hammers deal ends Faubert's hopes of preferred move to Ibrox EWAN SMITH RANGERS target Julien Faubert will today complete a £6m move to Premiership side West Ham - after Bordeaux blocked a late attempt by the Ibrox club to rescue a deal for the Frenchman. Faubert had his heart set on moving to Scotland after agreeing a deal in principle to join Walter Smith's side on a four-year contract ten days ago. The midfielder went on a three-day strike from Bordeaux's training camp after they rejected the Gers' initial £4m offer for the 23-year-old French internationalist. Rangers were ready to up their bid to £5m but Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud refused to entertain the SPL side. And after West Ham blew Gers out of the water with a straight £6m cash offer on Friday night, Faubert was warned he could be frozen out of football by the French side if he didn't accept a move to London. Faubert's agent, Philippe Sol, said: "Julien was summoned to a meeting with the Bordeaux president on Friday night and told about West Ham's offer. It was substantially more than any cash on the table from Rangers and Julien was given an ultimatum by Bordeaux - West Ham or nowhere. "They were no longer interested in talking with Rangers and after everything that went on with Julien last week there really wasn't much way back for him. He wanted to go to Rangers and had given them his word. Everything he did last week was about moving to Rangers, and he wasn't looking to line up a move anywhere else. But there is nothing he could do about the transfer fee and you can understand why Bordeaux wanted to accept the offer from West Ham.
