RANGERS are delighted to announce DCP Capital as the new Principal and Front-of-Shirt Partner of the club’s Women’s team.

This new partnership sees DCP Capital become the first ever Principal Partner for the Women’s team from the start of the 2020 season, which begins in February.

This is yet another landmark step for Rangers who recently announced the intention to turn the Women’s team professional for the 2019 season, following structural changes that allowed the first team and academy to be fully integrated within the club’s football department.

Amy McDonald, Rangers Women’s and Girl’s Football Manager said: “We are delighted to welcome DCP Capital as our first Principal Partner ahead of what will be a very exciting season for the club.

“We are working towards providing the very best for our players within both our academy and first team and we thank Julian and DCP Capital for their support.

“This partnership will continue to develop the programme both on and off the pitch and will play an important part in allowing us to empower the players and staff within our elite football environment.”

DCP Capital is an international private equity firm with offices in Beijing, New York and Hong Kong that focuses on opportunities in Asia.
The leadership team of DCP Capital has been investing in the Greater China region since 1993 and has led a number of successful and innovative investments and nurtured numerous industry leaders over the past 26 years.

Rangers Director Julian Wolhardt, who is also Chief Executive Officer of DCP Capital, is the driving force behind the new partnership.

Julian Wolhardt said: “DCP Capital are delighted to become the new Principal Partner of the Rangers Women’s team at this very exciting time for women’s football internationally and at the club.

“We firmly believe football can be used as a force for good and as a vehicle to empower women on and off the pitch and importantly, to inspire more girls to play football.

“We are proud supporters of the work that Amy McDonald and all of her team are doing for our players and wish them good luck for the season ahead.”

James Bisgrove, Rangers Director of Commercial and Marketing, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome DCP Capital to the club’s stable of Official Partners and to launch this landmark partnership at a time where the profile, audience and commercial interest in the Women’s game is experiencing unprecedented growth.

“The 2020 season promises to be an exciting campaign both on and off the pitch for Rangers and we’re delighted that DCP Capital will be the first-ever Principal Partner, supporting their long-term development.”

Rangers finished the 2019 season in the fourth position in the Scottish Building Society Scottish Women’s Premier League, playing at the new stand at the Hummel Training Centre.

Rangers are also committed to the longer-term future of the women’s game in the country, with the club making it easier for players at all age levels of the academy to play and train.

As well as recruiting new players, the number of full-time staff members will also increase ahead of the 2020 season, which will yet again improve professionalism both on and off the pitch.
