Flanagan not a great player but played in position was always solid backup in my opinion. Never hid in games and ran himself into the ground.

I think right back was his more favoured position, but he was never really going to be challenging Tav for that spot.

SUMMER SWOOP

Rangers want West Brom starlet Rayhaan Tulloch with Brighton and West Ham also keen

RANGERS want to bring West Brom starlet Rayhaan Tulloch to Ibrox this summer.

Boss Steven Gerrard faces stiff competition from English sides for the 19-year-old forward.

Brighton and West Ham are also keen on Tulloch, whose Hawthorns contract is up next month.

The Baggies have also not given up hope of persuading the academy product to sign a deal.

Tulloch scored nine goals in 14 Premier League 2 appearances for the club last season.

That form saw Slaven Bilic use him as a substitute in FA Cup clashes with West Ham and Newcastle.

And they remain hopeful the prospect of more first-team action will persuade him to stay on.

Gerrard, though, knows he needs more firepower to stop Celtic as they ... bla bla and bla

And Gers are encouraged that the teenager has yet to commit his future to the Championship club.

Meanwhile, French side Dijon are tracking Rangers stopper Nikola Katic.

The Croatian star still has three years left of his contract and the Light Blues would definitely seek a decent profit on the £2million they paid Slaven Belupo for him in July 2018.

But it’s unclear if Gerrard would be prepared to sell the 23-year-old — having given him a contract extension just seven months ago.

Reports in Katic’s homeland say Dijon — who finished 16th in the recently-declared Ligue 1 — are keen for a deal for next season.

The uncompromising centre half has had a mixed Ibrox career.

In and out of the team with 59 appearances, the highlight is unquestionably the goal against Celtic in December which sealed a first Parkhead triumph for nine years.

Andy Halliday, Wes Foderingham, Jon Flanagan, Jason Holt, Jordan Rossiter and Jak Alnwick won’t have their contracts renewed.

Other Gers stars could be sold with the manager given the scope to rebuild his squad for the quest to stop bla, bla, and bla.

Rayhaan Tulloch on TM

What wage does your average EPL-/Championship-youngster get these days?

The released players are as expected. I say it every summer but I think we need to learn from mistakes and prioritise quality. Every season we spread our wage budget thin when what we need are big players, Hagi being a good example.

Clicked the link for Rayhaan Tulloch, and there is a list of comparable players on the right.

Jizz Hornkamp and Adil Titi are two that appeared ,and could be worth signing purely for the comedy value ?.

Great news. He was unfairly judged at times by fans who expected perfection but ultimately he is a player who is a cut above what we have technically and I think we should set the team up to make best use of his abilities.
