No disrespect to Walter and his side but they were largely playing a mega defensive style looking to snatch something on the break. Their possession and shots statistics were far less impressive than those of Gerrard sides. And just 18 months after the arrival of Gerrard I still find myself amazed that not only are we in these groups but actually have a degree of confidence that we can get a win over the likes of Porto.
