I suppose to some (very odd, in my opinion) people, a bit of cultural intolerance is more newsworthy than the systematic abuse of children.

Neil Cameron is one such person.

It's pure diversion.

The only truly unexpected thing I ever heard (off the record) from Neil Cameron wasn't about football but about Gregor Townsend, who he described as a "compete charlatan" and described the half-time Scotland dressing at Twickenham as "total mutiny".

Toonie is many things, and I've heard him criticised for many of them, but "charlatan"? Never.

That was my reaction to Cameron but he insists he's right and that many of the players think so too.

I think he was a cracking player, if mercurial. As coach at Glasgow he produced a successful Championship winning side, which was good to watch, and identified and brought in some excellent players from abroad. If that means that he is a charlatan, then I stand corrected.

Although there were certainly "words" at half time at Twickenham, Cameron's description may indicate that there were other words, somewhere, sometime, some of which were less than complimentary, between him and Townsend.
