JFK-1 1,693
No one in Scotland is going to be challenging OF dominance. Challenging dominance means doing what they do, and that's winning cups and titles repeatedly. Not hubz nor anyone else in Scotland is going to do that. The best thing they could do to challenge the current yahoo dominance is stop going missing against them while turning up against us. And stop taking loans from them you then can't play against them.
buster. 5,257
How do you make money out of Hibs ?

It makes you wonder when the next non OF side will win the title again and in what decade if anything. Hearts have flirted a few times (1986, 2006) but never managed to maintain for throughout the season. Aberdeen late 80s and early 90s again had a chance but bar that the gaps have been massive and in theory most seasons the OF winner could have played about 8 less games and still won it. Will we have a Leicester scenario one year soon? I cant see that, the rest arent consistent enough against each other which is where they have a problem. The odd Cup will always throw up a different winner, just a shame the League Cup isnt the same as it was in the 80s and 90s when it was a cracking comp. Moving it away from an October final killed a lot of it.

Moving it away from an October final killed a lot of it. The financial gulf became wider between the OF and the rest when home teams kept all of the gate money for League matches. Previously it had been shared, so League visits to Ibrox/Parkhead were a pay day for the provincial teams. Can't remember the year but it changed in the 80's. We have our work cut out to end Celtic's dominance and it is also underpinned by a significant financial gap. compo 7,192
It would be nice to think that Hibs along with ourselves and a few others could all mount a challenge to wrestle the title from the hooped horrors

The gap on the pitch isnt as big as reflected in the final table last season. We need to stop having silly home draws which we did last season against likes of St Johnstone and I think their luck of scoring winners in the 96th minute runs out.

The gap was what it was and no amount of what if's will change it....but it's now about 19/20 and Gerrard&Co need to perform significantly better than their counterparts on the other side of the city if we are to have success,... mainly because of the financial gap (wages & transfer budget). Rodgers leaving and Lennon taking over gives us a much better chance IMO. As for the provincial teams, it'll be business as usual. Difficult to say who'll finish 3rd.
