pete 2,499
It has now come out that the Ajax players promised to pass on all bonus payments to the teams(players) playing against AZ in the last few games of the season to help them become champions. If they beat AZ as Excelsior did in the last game of the season they recieved the Ajax player's win bonus The Dutch FA has taken the line that every team gets bonuses and that the Ajax players done no harm. I personally think it is trying to fix results and should be illegal. Any views?
Gribz 837
Its not match fixing coz AZ could still win the game, but it makes the others try harder and is a bit poor of Ajax and it shouldnt be allowed as teams should only do there own motivation. Maybe if they were good enough all season they wouldnt have to rely on others.
Jon 0
Agreed, sounds totally wrong to me. Can't see how the Dutch FA can have allowed it
juffery 0
Apparently this sort of thing is common place in Spain at the end of the season. They haven't realy done anything wrong, just encouraged teams with nothing to play for to make sure they keep their motivation up at the end of the season.
Gribz 837
Thinking about it, Celtic tell Aberdeen to do this 4 times a season
Laudbertz 0
I dont think that should be allowed at all, sounds like under-handed match fixing (or match influencing) to me.
