Super_Ally 0
This was posted on FF by a poster who seems to be reliable when commenting on French FOotball. This has appeared on several web based and paper media. The Bordeaux right sided player, Julien Faubert, is nnow strongly linked with a move to Glasgow Rangers. Roma, Newcastle, Portsmouth, and Tottenham are also monitoring the situation, but the Scottish club are way ahead in terms of discussions and negotiations. The 23 year old International has not yet made his decision. The Girondins President will not stop reviewing the chances of keeping him, and it seems the future of the French International is not yet fixed. "We will not make up our mind on this. Today we are ready to let him go. he wants to go, but we need to see a fee that meets our valuation. Julien really wants to try his luck elsewhere, but its not done yet..." Laurent Blanc is known to be counting on the talented ex Cannois, and the two men will meet today to see if there is any way he can be persuaded to stay. With four years left on his contract, Faubert is attracting interest from Roma, Necastle, Portsmouth, and Tottenham. But none of these clubs are willing to get close to the ââ??¬10 million being demanded by Girondins (officially!!). The Roman club have renewed interest but are known to be pursuing less financially constraining options. Meeting this week with the Scots. The spotlight therefore has firmly shifted onto the Scottish Premier League and Glasgow Rangers. The Scottish coach, Walter Smith, has made it clear that this signing is a top priority for the club. teh Scottish club have already reached agreement on personal terms with theplayers representatives on a contract of four years. Julien Faubert is known to be attracted to the former club of Paul Le Guen. Jean-Claude Darcheville is also known to have been a prime mover in convincing his former team mate to come to Glasgow (he has also spoken very highly of the set up at Rangers to Pascal Feindouno). the only thing that remains is for the two clubs to reach agreement on the final transfer fee. Rangers will begin negotiations this week. They have already sent a fax to Girondins declaring their intent and making an initial offer.

If we've signed him then wouldnt it be better he was in our squad just now preparing for the new season and bonding with his new teamates? Don't really think we need him although he is a very decent player

Don't really think we need him although he is a very decent player The rumour is that we have to wait til August 1st. Something to do with Hibs tax year. However I don't know anything about that kind of thing, so might be a load of shit.
alanmidd 0
is Hibs tax year different from everyone elses? Hmmm i smell shite
craig 5,199
is Hibs tax year different from everyone elses? Hmmm i smell shite Yes it could be. If their financial year end is July 31 then it makes sense for Hibs to wait till August 1 as they will not be taxed on the income till NEXT year. Tax years for corporations are different to tax years for individuals.
