Happy Birthday to #RangersFC legend Colin Stein

Recommended Posts

Quite a few Rangers legends had their moments of ill-discipline.

Stein was before my time but he was my dad's favourite player.  It's always great to see him and Willie Henderson whenever I'm in Bar72.  Real Rangers men who had the footballing ability to match their gallus character.

Talking about discipline of Morelos but Colin had his moment as well. I can remember a few sending off's that he had for punching guys.

Stein was a robust performer, could dish it out plenty but no sneaky stuff.

Or Souness for that matter. Imagine him having to talk to a player about keeping the heid.

No he certainly wasn't sneaky. I remember one game, Killie or St johnstone i think. Colin got the ball on Rangers left wing about half way in the opponents half. He cut inside and the defender had a pull at him. 5 yards further the guy had another go but Colin kept going. again about 5 yards further the guy had a third go at him all over his back. Colin didn't hesitate for a second. He turned round and lamped the guy. He got sent off but the ref should have blown for a foul long before he hit out,
