Dunno, his stats are satisfactory, given that he was not always used as a striker ...

Look at how he was successful at Dundee & Killie. Unsuccessful at Aberdeen & Birmingham.

From our perspective this should have been a simpler transfer window.  We don't need the volume of players, but rather a few quality additions.  The 'problem' we have is that for the first time we have 6 or 7 players that will be wanted by other clubs.  When you read the various reports linking our current players with moves away you realise it hasn't happened for years.  There's no doubt we are on our way back and Mark Allen (alongside with the rest of the football management team) is doing a great job in making sure we are investing our transfer funds, albeit limited, wisely.

Steven Gerrard in Rennes for Mexer

The former glory of Liverpool, now coach of Glasgow Rangers, was seen in Rennes. He could be interested in checking out the defender Mexer.
Glasgow Rangers' manager, former Liverpool man Steven Gerrard, was seen at a restaurant in Rennes on Thursday afternoon, and it was probably not to discover Breton gastronomy. The Scottish club indeed seems to be one of those who are interested in Mexer, the 30-year-old Mozambican defender from Rennes.

An essential pillar of the Breton defense this season, his contract ends in June without there being any agreement so far with Rennes about an extension. The scorer of the equalizer in the final of the Coupe de France against PSG (2-2, 6-5 on the tab), with a masterful header, is a player on which Julien Stéphan, the Rennes coach, would like still be able to count next season.

Rangers star Alfredo Morelos was linked with a move to Real Betis earlier in the season [originally Football Scotland], and now it looks like the La Liga outfit are set to reignite their interest.

Spanish outlet eldesmarque.com are reporting that Betis are preparing to pounce on the Rangers talisman. And that they’re prepared to pay.

The report claims Betis will test Rangers resolve with a tantalising €23m (£19.75m) bid. Should this genuinely be the case, it’s incredibly unlikely Rangers will reject th

Club managing director Stewart Robertson told the ORSA Convention that Rangers valued the striker at close to £20m. This is roughly the amount that former Celtic striker Moussa Dembele moved to Lyon for.

Rangers have made it clear that they will not accept meagre bids for the player. The likes of Bordeaux bid £3.75m at the start of the season, an amount Steven Gerrard described as derisory.

It’s mega money that’s reportedly on the table from the La Liga outfit. It’d provide a serious boost to the Ibrox club’s coffers going into next season.

Whilst it’d be a real shame to lose the much-loved Morelos, can Rangers really turn that kind of money down? It’s very unlikely

And given Rangers recent transfer interest, it very much feels like we’re preparing for life without the striker anyway.

Let`s put it this way, Real Betis (currently 9th)  is not one of the real big guns there, but are well able to throw money about (and gather it in):

I'd buy it only if Martin Bain has joined them.

If we were to get a bid of 15M, we'd take it right away IMO.

I wouldn’t be so sure. It’s the copa America in the summer so his value could soar.
