compo 7,046
Always quick to criticise others then gets his first job and is out quicker than Jack flash will be back on sky soon telling others how to do the job .
Gribz 850
Nobody can question his footballing ability but since becoming a pundit he is just a misery to listen to. The "class of 92" just dont seem to be able to cut it at maangement. G Neville was a disaster, P Neville has gone into the ladies game, Giggs - jury still out and Scholes jumped ship after 30 days.
Bluedell 5,627
If he resigned because he wasn't being allowed to pick his own team and he didn't even have a transfer window then it's difficult to get a feel for his ability.

If he allowed himself to get drawn into such a situation, it doesn't suggest he has what is needed to make it as a manager.

That might be mitigation but he has to take responsibility for his decision. If he knew there was a risk then he didn't go in blind.

That's nonsense... IF, as he suggested, he was told things going in that weren't subsequently adhered to. Pretty sure all of us have believed someone at some point in time only to find the reality disappointingly different to the initial expectations.

If he knew there was a risk then he didn't go in blind. How would he know there was a risk ? If, if, if.... you have a fair number of ifs in this thread.... His resignation statement made it clear that, from his perspective, what he was offered and what he accepted were two very different things.

Not exactly the same thing but a reasonable parallel,......... some used their napper and could see though Craig Whyte and Charles Green, too many couldn't and probably wouldn't get what I mean. It was well publicised before his appointment that he was seeking assurances. The Daily Mail, for example, 2 week before he was appointed stated "Paul Scholes remains keen on the Oldham job — but wants assurances there will be no interference in team matters before he takes over at the club he supported as a boy." He obviously got the reassurances and they turned out to be false so he walked away.
