Aye, as I said I wasn't sure what he was flagging for? and I haven't watched it back

I believe the linesman was flagging for the striker who was inside (and just online) but the ball was played beyond him to the winger who was clearly onside.  I think the ref realized that the striker wasn't technically part of play and the ball had been played to the winger who was definitely onside.

Was the right call but confusion reigned - you can't really prevent these things when two people see the same incident in different ways.

The old saying stays valid. You play on until the whistle blows. The referee has no blame in this case.

Whenever VAR happens (during matches I'm watching on TV), I'm delighted we haven't got it here.

It's for armchair fans and it won't help Rangers one bit.

Due to Stadium Geography I am an armchair fan. As your forecast that it won't help Rangers. Can I borrow your Crystal ball for a few days? That is of course a junk statement.

I think it's a justifiable and evidence based 'junk statement'.  Feel free to disagree but I wouldn't get your hope too high if I were you.

Another layer of incompetence is all VAR would provide.
