McCall Takes Bradford Job - Report

Recommended Posts

Sheffield United assistant boss Stuart McCall is set to become Bradford manager, according to the Yorkshire Post.

McCall has been at Bramall Lane for five years and became Neil Warnock's number two since 2004 when he took over from David Kelly.

Warnock resigned as Blades boss on Tuesday following the south Yorkshire's club final day relegation from the Barclays Premiership and McCall had been expected to be one of the leading candidates to take over.

However, it appears the 42-year-old will return to the Valley Parade club to succeed Colin Todd.

The former Scotland midfielder started his career at Bradford and then moved on to Everton and Rangers before enjoying a second spell at Valley Parade where he spent four successful years.

McCall has already been backed by David Wetherall, who took charge for the final three games of the season following Todd's sacking.

Wetherall said: "I would be absolutely delighted if we got Stuart McCall here as manager.

"I haven't got a clue if it is going to happen, but I think that it would create such an interest in the club and around the city that it could only be good for Bradford City.

"With Stuart McCall in charge we could get the club going in the right direction and I could play a part in that on the pitch and not from the dugout."

Well i guess that answers the will he/wont he coach at Rangers question.

Good luck Stuart.

Surprised to hear that he didn't get the Sheff Utd job and I was even more surprised when I read that Bryan Robson was favourite. He's shite!!!

Aye Robson is pish. He is over here quite a lot being a pundit and the "nobody's" who are presenters and pundits of the footy here look at him like he is god.

Good luck to McCall, pity he never came to Ibrox.
