Palestine ambassador given VIP tour of Celtic Park

Sympathising with Palestine has long been di rigueur for any aspiring anti-western socialist. If you don't tick that particular box and flaunt it for all to see then you're simply not staunch in socialist eyes. It's a badge of belonging rather than any notion of honest support.

In that respect, the western socialist is stuck in a deep rut and wholly out of step with his once-precious Arab brothers, all of whom long ago abandoned the Palestinians as little more than inconvenient parasites. To maintain a modicum of credibility in each other's eyes, western socialists now have to declare how they despise many Arab countries - Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Egypt, Jordan - all of whom have betrayed the Palestine oppression-narrative that's been so carefully cultivated and fostered over decades. When you see the socialist pouring out his sentimentality for the Palestine cause, you can more or less be certain he doesn't give a monkey's about Gaza or the Left Bank but is abundantly keen on polishing his credentials for the comrades to admire.

"Maybe you should..." becomes 'preaching' in the minds of those who are keen to take offence, apparently.

I attended church sermons fairly regularly in my youth and don't ever recall the Minister starting a sentence with, "Maybe you should...".

The yahoos can donate to whatever they want.  As can anyone.  Good luck to the IRA choir getting their pennies any further than the Palestinian politicians though (they'll get siphoned off at some point).

Do you know why I used the.... Maybe you should......line ?

It was a sarcastic response to you using the "Maybe they should..." line in the post I was replying to.

In other words, look in the mirror and repeat your latest sermon.

 :D

Now that you have recognised the right of X to donate their money as they see fit and it has nothing to do with child abuse, you now invoke the 'yahoosympathiser' line........ Akin to a man stumbling backwards grabbing hold of fresh air.

I can understand why people on here might be reluctant to praise Celtic supporters for doing anything, fine. I wouldn't have bothered myself, until I saw someone had posted an article, which got the customary and reprehensible call for the genocide of all the Palestinian people from the usual suspect, followed by irrelevant and inaccurate comparisons.

The Palestinians are human beings who are heavily disadvantaged at various levels and good on ANYONE or GROUP who want to donate money to them.

At the same time, there is no pressure on anyone to do so and if they have a problem with it, they could at least attempt to be civil and accurate.

Venezuela, Palestine. Predictable magnets for heart-rending socialist sentimentality. There seems to be no atrocity that can’t be ignored in their rush to defend these shitholes. Even those altruistic heroes of the Green Brigade have to be flattered. Yuk.

call for the genocide

Bottomline, wrt Bill's statement ...saying no one would miss the Palestinians is not the same as advocating or calling for genocide.

I'd have been more inclined to give the benefit of the doubt if he hadn't previously come out and blatantly said as such.

ie. it's his stated belief.

Where exactly do you think he proposes that they go, not to be missed ?

Whether it be the previous 'hard language' or the now softer rhetoric, it amounts to the same thing.

The extermination of a people, of millions of human beings.

It's generally done so as to dehumanize a people and basically prepare the ground for the continuation or/and upscaling of treating them as less than human.

Maybe you shouldn't preach to people what to do with their money #freedom

Freedom, from someone who wants to tax people more and, ergo, telling them what to do with their money :roflmao:
