Frankie 8,562
Adidas World Cup or Copa Mundial were my favourites. For 2 years I was sponsored by a Spanish company Joma (via an Edinburgh sportshop) and they were pretty good.
Scott7 6,009
Can’t remember what mine cost. 30 bob, I think. £1.50 in this new-fangled money.

I was rubbish at football, so never bothered with boots. It's easy to say 'No!' to overly expensive items when you're a tight git. Our leagues are full of players who started out with nothing. A pair of boots doesn't make you into a good footballer. The words I say to my kid all the time are "It doesn't matter one bit the boots you are wearing - it is what you do with the feet inside them that counts".... And after his game on Sunday he is now on crutches for tendonitis in his ankle

They are pretty common with community clubs, certainly in Bermuda. In fact, if I am not mistaken, Kevin Thomson uses them for his Academy too.
Frankie 8,562
Yeah, I think there's a few UK teams sponsored by them now as well but at that time they were new to the UK market and I remember getting some strange looks when I put the boots on for the first time.

No, I can't quite remember the shop's name but they were one of the first shops at the original Kinnaird Park. Where Currys/PC World is now, there used to be a small indoor emporium of shops, one of which was the sports shop.

You still got them. Ryan Jack has just pulled out of the Scotland squad.

It wasn't the boots that were causing the strange looks Frankie
