Elsewhere in Europe, Arsenal continue their winning run. Its 11 on the trot with a good victory in Lisbon.

AC Milan - A team Ive always liked but how far backwards have they went! lost 2-1 at home to Betis.

Oh and a certain Glasgow team losing in Germany has left them needing a couple of wins in their last 3 games, but are 6 behind the leaders.

The Europa has slight improvement in quality but I still think there is too many teams. UEFA should move the Europa to Tuesday with the CL Wed and Thurs as its a bit like 'after the lord mayors show' being on the Thurs, i think it would have more interest on a Tuesday night. The CL league teams usually play on a Sunday anyway for TV so their games wouldnt be moved as much for domestic comps.

Milan have been poor for a while. Even with a complete financial overhaul last season they went nowhere.

Betis are a superb footballing side, so I was expecting them to beat Milan.

I think the Europa League's main selling point was that, yes there may be a lot of teams, but they're all about the same level, making quite a competitive competition.

Who was it that called them the “Aberdeen of England”? ???

Some Aberdeen fans think they are the Liverpool of Scotland. But realistically Ive always said they are the Notts Forest of Scotland.
