ian1964 10,761
Scotland defender Kieran Tierney has been removed from the squad for Sunday's match against Portugal. The Celtic star, who scored an own goal against Israel on Thursday, has been sent back to his club as part of an agreement to prevent burnout. Three other players have also pulled out of Alex McLeish's squad and three replacements have been called up. John Souttar, Robert Snodgrass and Charlie Mulgrew have returned to their clubs whilst Aberdeen pair Mikey Devlin and Gary Mackay-Steven as well as Ryan Christie have been brought in. Souttar has a hip injury, Snodgrass is struggling with his fitness and Mulgrew was pulled off at half-time in Haifa with a knock after putting Scotland in front. Devlin has been called up for the first time and the Dons defender will have a chance to win his first Scotland cap, whilst Mackay-Steven has a chance to add to his solitary appearance, won almost five years ago in a friendly against the United States. Christie, who spent last season on loan at Pittodrie, has the chance to win a fourth cap for Scotland and is in line to play his first game for the national team since the friendly against Mexico back in June. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/celtic-star-kieran-tierney-leads-13411405

MacK1950 2,399
Only McGregor there now and I think Eck will play Gordon even if just to keep his mouth shut.

MacK1950 2,399
I used to object to a British team but now couldn't care less and in saying that doubt if any Scottish player, except Greegs, could make a British team.

I actually think we have some reasonable players and with a decent manager should top our section. Not saying we would beat any of the big nations football wise.

Didn't watch any of game tonight but when we have players such as Soutar/McKenna as examples plus the likes of Christie I do not see much hope.
