JFK-1 1,693
So are we to conclude that this means we will play on the Sunday while the yahoos will play Hearts on the Saturday? It's listing both days and it was stated prior to the draw that whoever came out of the hat first would play on the Saturday. That was yahoos v Hearts.
Rousseau 10,639
Someone on Twitter suggested because both Rangers and Celtic are playing in Europe that week, both games may have to go ahead at the same time but in different cities.
buster. 5,199
I put a thread up weeks ago about this and thought the easiest way around it was....if OF both got through and were kept apart in draw, then the first semi-final out the hat plays on the Saturday. TV schedules and location issues (including finance) would surely much prefer the Saturday/Sunday split.

I read somewhere that we will get a days less rest after playing in Europe .
Briton 314
I thought the draw would be fixed so we'd play Celtic? Somethings gone wrong.

It did look a bit iffy when during the draw Michael Stewart's hands moved behind the counter before producing a ball.
JFK-1 1,693
The SPFL will meet representatives of all League Cup semi-finalists and the police in a bid to find a solution to where the matches should be held. Hearts will take on Celtic and Rangers face Aberdeen in the last four. The games were scheduled for Hampden on Saturday 27 October and Sunday 28 October, but Celtic and Rangers have Thursday games in the Europa League. One option is to use Murrayfield as a second venue and hold both games on the Sunday. BT Sport have a deal to broadcast both matches. Celtic face RB Leipzig in Germany while Rangers host Spartak Moscow and Ibrox manager Steven Gerrard insists it would be "unfair" to ask either of the Glasgow clubs to play again after just one day's rest. The semi-final line-up also means the top flight matches between Aberdeen v Livingston and Dundee v Hearts on the 27th, as well as Hibs v Rangers and Celtic v Motherwell on the Sunday, will be rescheduled. There is a full Scottish Premiership fixture list the following Wednesday, with Aberdeen hosting Hamilton, Celtic visiting Dundee, Rangers taking on Kilmarnock at Ibrox and an Edinburgh derby at Tynecastle. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/45663298
pete 2,499
Our Chairman should be phoning the SFA to say Celtic must play on the Saturday and should be given no respite.

Haha. Truth is they probably would cock it up if they tried a fix. I don't get what the Blue Tims are on about with that anyway...why the paranoia over a fixed draw? I don't see how it's to anyone's advantage that the Old Firm are drawn together.
Tannochsidebear 2,413
This should have taken all of 30 seconds to sort out. Hearts v celtic at Murrayfield, Rangers v Dolly at hampden. One kicks off at 12.00, the other at 3.00, giving ample time for any extra time/pens needed in the first match. Doesnt really matter which way round, that can be up to the broadcaster. Had it been Rangers v Hearts same scenario as above with us at Murrayfield and tims/dolly at Hampden. Had it been Hearts v Dolly, Hampden could have been used on both days no problem. It could all have been announced prior to the draw and nobody could have a problem with it, perhaps apart from the broadcaster, but it gives them an excellent double-header to go up against whatever games are on from the EPL on Sky that day, so no big problem there either.
