Gonzo79 15,299
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45291695 Scottish football may follow others lead and look at allowing safe flares* into grounds. Seems reasonable to me. *please refrain from flared trouser jokes. I lost a pair to old age recently.

compo 7,193
There's not such a thing as a safe pyrotechnic, anything that burns can cause harm .
Gonzo79 15,299
They manage loads of them in Greece and the Balkans without much of a problem. If everyone in a (safe standing, for instance) section is quite happy to have flares there, surely only killjoys would want to stop it happening. I loved setting stuff on fire when I was a bairn.
MacK1950 2,399
How can they ever be safe as they must be in same category as fireworks, where in the use of thousands of people are injured yearly
JFK-1 1,693
I don't see how anything that burns can be safe in a crowd.
buster. 5,257
Perhaps people shouldn't be allowed out of their homes,....it's not safe out there ! But then, what's that about most accidents taking place at home,.........everybody go out !
