BEARGER 1,830
Don’t know if this has been posted, also did not realise that Dorrans injury was this serious. 018 at 10:08amWritten by: Derek Woodrow Steven Gerrard could be forced back into the transfer market with the news that Graham Dorrans injury is ‘severe’ as the club get set to send him to see a specialist in London, according to the Four Lads Had a Dream Talking on the new Gersnet podcast, Stevie Clifford from the Four Lads blog, a very reliable source of Rangers news, said that Dorrans was not expected to play again until 2019 and that Gerrard might have to sign a new midfielder. “I think we’ll be in the market for another midfielder”, Clifford said, “A no.10 kind of role.” “It looks like the Graham Dorrans’ ankle injury is pretty severe. “That is the bad news received in the last two days. He is being sent to London by the club and from the player himself, we don’t expect to see him in this calendar year. “That leaves us short and we might go out and replace Windass as that is where Dorrans was going to play.” OPINION This is a really big blow for Rangers and the player himself. Dorrans has only played 20 games since signing from Norwich. He made his return at the tail-end of last season only to get injured again right at the end of the campaign. Now it looks like he’s going to miss at least the rest of this year, as he gets ready to see a London specialist. The only bit of good news is that the transfer window is still open in Scotland and Gerrard can go out and get a replacement. Clifford thinks that Gerrard might well go out and look for a replacement for Windass, and that would make a lot of sense after the attacking midfielder left on deadline day. That’s not the only position that Gerrard will be looking to reinforce this August, though. A new striker and a new centre-back are also on the cards, despite a very busy summer already. If Gerrard can get all three targets in before the end of August, it will leave them in a very strong position to launch a serious campaign on the Premiership title. Celtic have already lost a game and that suggests the title is there to be won.
buster. 5,185
Can't say I'm surprised. Nor do I expect to see Jordan Rossiter anytime soon. I'm just relieved that Arfield's injury doesn't appear to have been a major issue.

That aside, the positive for us as a whole is that he'd have a helluva job dislodging Ryan Jack from the team atm.

When we do eventually get him fit and if we're still in the Euro competition he'll be used in the squad rotation that Stevie G has been talking about. Then if he can stay fit he offers the manager more options because I think he's very capable of getting and holding a jersey. Granted there are a couple of 'IFs' that need to be considered in there for sure but I think he's good enough.

Walterbear 557
He’s a different type of player to Jack. After Arfield we don’t have much midfield creativity. Murphy maybe but we need to support Morelas so we need a real goal scoring threat from midfield probably before we need another striker.
Soulsonic5791 408
I'd like to know a few things re Dorrans. a) who really signed him. b) how much he actually cost both in terms of the fee paid and his TCO. c) who carried out the medical and who signed off on it. and, d) who finally okayed his purchase. We need to cut out profligacy. The initial signs under SG on that count are good, thankfully. Edited August 15, 2018 by Soulsonic5791

The doctor that signed him off has left the cjub.
trublusince1982 243
The bench last night for being early in the season was not strong enough. Not sure if the euro games are maybe dictating what level of wanted acquisition we are highlighting but we need to start getting a move on. We still need a CB a RF,midfield cover and a third striker for my liking. Someone needs to explain this madness about dorrans playing in the Windass role.
