Scott7 6,006
Croatia v Denmark started well but it’s fallen away to mediocrity. Some matches haven’t achieved even mediocrity.
Malangsob 1,264
That guy Mandzukic has heart. Out there limpin like a hurt dog and still gave it his all. Denmark's D is on point man.

Rousseau 10,618
Croatia were shot, mentally and physically; they just couldn't string two passes together. Denmark weren't great either, but they made it work tactically. Croatia did this last time too: looked like real favourites, rest players in the third group game, then lose the plot in the knock-out stages. They were very fortunate to get through. Let's hope the real Croatia turn up; that wasn't it.
Rousseau 10,618
Denmark are interesting: they play with a Target-man in Cornelius, then also have another wide right, Poulsen, in a 4-2-3-1, which allows them to play long diagonals to him. Eriksen as the #10 drifts over to that right side to link-up play and create. They don't play with natural wingers at all. Braithwaite on the other 'wing' is a forward, who likes to drift inside. I wonder why it's only Rangers that seem to need two out-and-out wingers to be successful...

The Danes towered over the Croats and used their size and strength to both bully the pitch and channel movement. The only Croat goal was the benefit of a lucky bounce off a Dane which put the ball at the foot of Mandzukic. If the Danes had anyone who could push the tempo in the latter stages (notice Sisto sub in 80+ minute?) they may have taken it in regulation. They were frequently threatening in the Croat zone, just not enough offensive skill to bag one. Yet, this was a beautifully coached game on the Dane side...lovely thing. Just not lucky in the end. compo 7,041
Nice to see fans having a beer and what looked like glasses of wine during the matches pity some of the fans in Scotland are so uncivilized or they might enjoy a Swally during the matches .
