The Scottish FA has charged Hibernian boss Neil Lennon with misconduct following his celebrations after his side scored a last-minute equaliser against Rangers on Sunday.

Lennon has been issued with a notice of complaint after he ran onto the pitch in celebration of Jamie Maclaren's stoppage-time goal which secured a point for Hibs in the 5-5 draw at Easter Road.

He was then quickly ushered down the tunnel by fourth official Bobby Madden before the final whistle blew.

Lennon is already sitting on a suspended two-match ban after a bust-up with referee Kevin Clancy during his side's fixture against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park in February.

He was given a five-match ban for misconduct in the aftermath of that game and missed three matches with immediate effect. He was told the remaining two-game suspension would only be applied if he committed misconduct again before the end of 2018.

An SFA disciplinary hearing will take place on Monday, May 21.

The former Celtic boss was hit with a three game ban by the SFA Compliance Officer yesterday after he ran onto the pitch to celebrate a late leveller in the 5-5 draw with Rangers at the end of last season.

But what some won’t remember is that Lenny still has a four-game UEFA suspension to serve.

He was hit with the ban two years ago after remonstrating with a referee during his first game in charge at Easter Road when they faced Brondby.

And Lennon admitted that the ban had even slipped his own mind.

Speaking to the Scotsman, he said: “Feck, I’d forgotten about that.

“I’ll just have to deal with it…my staff are well used to it by now.”

Lennon will definitely sit in the stands when Hibs start their Euro qualifiers on July 12 against Faroese side NSI Runavik.

But former Rangers defender Maurice Ross reckons Lennon’s men will have no problems on their trip to the Faroes.

The ex-Scotland international was boss of Faroese champions Vikingur but was axed last week

Lenny will miss both legs off the Europa League clash and he could be absent from both the home and away tie of second round qualifying against Greek club Asteras Tripolis should they progress.

Lennon had a two-match domestic ban hanging over him from a previous charge and that has been added to the fresh one-game suspension for the aeroplane celebration.

Due to the Hibees involvement in the Europa League they will not play in the Betfred Cup group stage meaning Lennon will face his domestic suspension in the Premiership.

He will miss the opening three league games with Motherwell, St Johnstone and Aberdeen.

Neil Lennon insists he's fine with ban because airplane celebration was fun

The Hibs boss was handed a three game ban for his celebrations during the 5-5 draw with Rangers but reckons it was worth it.

Neil Lennon last night insisted he can live with his SFA ban – because his airplane celebration in front of Rangers’ fans was FUN.
And he reckons the disciplinary panel could have shown a bit of common sense over his antics in the thrilling 5-5 last-day draw in Leith.
The SFA last week found the Hibs boss guilty of
misconduct and dished out a one-match touchline ban for running on the pitch with his arms outstretched after his side’s late leveller.
That has triggered a
suspended two-match ban which means the gaffer will miss three fixtures..

Lennon insisted he was
disappointed with the SFA’s decision – but loved his
celebration at the time.
He said: “We were very disappointed but we’ll take the ban and move on.
“I enjoyed the celebration. It was the last kick of the season in what was
probably the game of the season and to me it was a bit of harmless fun.
“It’s something where a bit of common sense could have been applied in that aspect but sometimes you have to follow rules and regulations as well.”

The bampot actually asks for common sense when he does his antics when common sense should tell him what foolsih stunts he does. But for that you would need brains first ...

One day someone will sure apply some karma on him.
