The Summer 2018 Transfer Window Rumours and Deals

The stats don't tell you about potential, just what he's done.

Should we just be selling players because they've not been outstanding now?

Of course there is a sell-on value. He's 22. He will get better. I don't understand your logic? 'He's not been great now, so he won't ever be?' Players don't need to be playing every minute of every game to improve; just play a part, and perhaps be brought into a better system. He came on against Aberdeen, changing the game for us.

but what a player has done previously, gives you an insight into what he may do in the future.....

Player trading is a gamble....you never know how it's going to work out.  With Cummings, we have had the benefit of "try before you buy".  We have had a taster of how he may contribute in the immediate future, and a glimpse of how he may develop in the longer term.  It is now up to the Manager to decide whether he is going to develop into a player that can offer real value to the team in terms of performance & goals, and potential value to the club if his re-sale value goes up.

A players value only increases if his performances warrant it.  All to often players stagnate & their value drops.  Joe Dodoo was originally bought for £250k....he's 22, played 44 games in his pro career & scored 12 goals.  I'd say we'd be lucky to get that £250k back for him.

Cummings hasn't been great just now, but there is also no guarantee that he will notably improve next season, or the next.....The manager HAS to look at how he has performed in recent months & decide whether it's a gamble worth taking.  If we're gonna play with 1 up top, is Cummings gonna successfully challenge for that spot, or is he gonna spend most of his time on the bench?

Marriott 23, Morleos 21, Cummings 22 ... and McBurnie 21, that woudl be a rather young strikeforce. And who knows what Gerrard makes of Hardie.

@ Darther, I'd rather have Cummings and Morelos than a choice between one of them.

Hardie is out of contract end of this season! anyone heard anything regarding him signing a new contract?

Nothing thus far and I would assume that Gerrard will have a look at all players, loanees and those out of contract.

Seems to be a player who's you'd want at least 200-300k for. If we let him go you can guarantee he'd end up at one of our rivals. I'd say offer him a 1 year extension, look at loaning him to a top flight club for 6 months (Partick would be ideal if they stayed up), and take it from there.

Steven Gerrard set to make Plymouth Argyle ace his first signing as Rangers manager?

The Liverpool legend has turned his attention to recruitment ahead of the 2018/19 season

Plymouth Argyle centre-back Sonny Bradley has been linked with a move to Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

The 26-year-old is out of contract with the Pilgrims this summer but he has been offered a new deal by manager Derek Adams.

Argyle face stiff competition to keep their man as reports suggest that former Liverpool and England midfielder Steven Gerrard is looking to make him one of his first signings at Rangers.

Gerrard has seen Bradley in action on numerous occasions but it would be the 0-0 draw at Anfield that would stick in the memory.

Bradley was on the top of his game during that performance and was a vital part of the Pilgrims side that kept out the likes of Divock Origi, Ben Woodburn, Adam Lallana, Robert Firmino and Daniel Sturridge.

Liverpool had 28 shots during the match but thanks to resolute defending only four of them were on target.

Bradley was named as the man of the match for that game and he has certainly established himself as one of the better defenders in League One and League Two during his time with Argyle.

Rangers aren't the only team linked with a move for the former Crawley, Portsmouth and Hull man.

Championship club Bolton and Scottish Premiership club Hearts are also interest in recruiting the 6ft 5in defender.

Bradley signed for the Pilgrims in July 2016 and has gone on to make just short of 100 appearances for the side.

He was also named as the Herald's player-of-the-year for the 2016/17 season.

Hardie won't be playing for Livingston tomorrow night, having apparently had a foot OP today that went well. That's him out for the rest of the play-offs too, I would assume.
