The Summer 2018 Transfer Window Rumours and Deals

Recommended Posts

Press reports today claim Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is interested in a move for Liverpool’s Danny Ings, having previously dismissed Dominic Solanke.

The 25 year old Anfield striker has been on Rangers’ radar for a considerable period, but this is the first time he has been tangibly mentioned since Gerrard took the reins, and the former Burnley man, who has one cap for England, would be a fine signing if Rangers’ boss could persuade him his future is in Govan.

Rangers are on the definite lookout for further striking talent with, currently, only Alfredo Morelos as the single recognised one on the books – the deal to bring Roma’s Umar Sadiq is said to be ongoing, but Ings would qualify as a marquee signing given his career record.

Ings, who managed 43 in 142 appearances at top flight EPL cracks Burnley, is a former team mate of Scott Arfield who may well have spoken to his manager about the Winchester born hitman, and the Canadian international will know what Ings can bring to Rangers if he can stay fit, with injury history certainly being a bit of a concern.

More as we get it.

Would have been cool to see these "press reports". More often than not, IN simply posts what can be read on fan-boards, fleshed out with a few facts and figures.

Ings will cost serious money, unless we get him on loan or via an interesting installment package. And obviously, he'd need to cut his salaray a wee bit ...

The guy is 60k a week it’s a non-story. If he is leaving Liverpool I can guarantee you he’s not coming to Rangers he’ll be staying in the EPL.

Would have liked to have seen movement on McBurnie but we’re probably priced out of that one too.

Who’s this 22-year-old defensive beast on Rangers’ radar? The next big talent?

Who is Rangers target Lassana Coulibaly? All you need to know

According to reports, Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is keen on signing Lassana Coulibaly. The Mali international would be the eighth player to join the Gers this summer. Although Gerrard has avoided talking about him, reports claim that Rangers are interested in a season-long loan deal for the youngster, who currently plays for French Ligue 1 side Angers.

Coulibaly can play as a central midfielder or even as a defensive midfielder. Having come through the ranks in Bastia’s academy, Coulibaly broke into the first-team set up in the summer of 2015. He made 49 appearances for Bastia, scoring once and assisting twice over two seasons.

After Bastia were relegated at the end of the 2016/17 season, Coulibaly chose to move on. He was on PSG’s radar as the Parisian giants were in the market for a Blaise Matuidi-replacement but he joined Angers instead. Last season, Coulibaly featured 19 times as the club finished 14th.

Angers have signed Vincent Pajot from St. Etienne on a three-year deal. The Frenchman would be a direct replacement for Lassana Coulibaly, meaning the lanky Mali international could be available for a loan deal.

Coulibaly struggled for game time last season and he started only 11 games. A move to the less-demanding Scottish Premier League would provide Coulibaly with the perfect stage to further develop as a player.

Born and raised in Mali, Africa, Coulibaly was won 10 caps for The Eagles. The 22-year-old is a talented player with a lot of potential. He would be a good signing for a Rangers side that must challenge their Old Firm rivals Celtic for the title once the season gets underway.

Furthermore, Coulibaly’s defensive contribution would be vital as the Gers challenge on all fronts. Rangers’ season starts in two weeks’ time when they play Shkupi at Ibrox for the first-leg of the UEFA Europa League qualifying rounds. Before that, Gerrard must snap up a deal for Coulibaly.

Rangers in talks with Fenerbahce officials over sale of 18-goal star striker

Fenerbahce have stepped up their interest in Rangers star striker Alfredo Morelos.

The Colombian striker has been linked with a move away from the Scotish giants in recent weeks

Turkish outlet Fanatik recently reported that an unnamed Chinese club tabled a €7 million offer for the 21-year-old last month.

Meanwhile, the daily Turkish newspaper Milliyet has reported that Fenerbahce officials are currently in Scotland holding talks with Rangers.

Per the source, Fenerbahce’s newly appointed director of football Damien Comolli is leading negotiations. The report goes onto state that the Yellow Canaries want to wrap up the transfer in the coming days.

Morelos would be a huge loss to Rangers if he were to leave this summer. The Colombia U20 international was Rangers’s top goalscorer last season with 18 goals in all competitions.

Fenerbahce will participate in the UEFA Champions League next season after finishing the Turkish Super Lig in second place.
