Expand Davis has been a good player for them but is coming to the end of his career, at least at that level. Armstrong has it in front of him, whether it be success or failure. They payed good money thinking/hoping it'll be the former.
ian1964 10,875
Rangers and Roma reach agreement on Umar Sadiq deal The striker is set to join on a season-long loan, subject to work permit. Rangers have reached an agreement with Roma to sign Umar Sadiq on a season-long loan, STV has learned. The 21-year-old, who spent the second half of the last campaign in the Netherlands with NAC Breda, will become Steven Gerrard's eighth summer signing, subject to the Nigerian receiving a work permit. Sadiq would not meet the automatic criteria for a work permit endorsement, with Rangers needing to request an appeal hearing. That would be convened by the Scottish FA with a quick decision being made as to whether it should be approved and, if so, the player would then be able to sign for the Ibrox club though there may be further paperwork required in Italy. When confirming Rangers' interest in the Nigerian striker, Gerrard said the 6ft 3in target-man would bring a physical presence to his Light Blues frontline. Gerrard said: "He'd bring us a forward option - height, power, presence. "He's very enthusiastic. He's the type of player who gives you just as much out of possession as he does in possession which is very important." Sadiq scored five goals in 13 games in the Eredivisie during his stint with Breda. He initially joined Roma on loan from Spezia in 2015 but signed a permanent deal with the capital side after impressing on his outings for the Giallorossi. Rangers boss Gerrard is set to make further signings ahead of the new campaign, with fringe players set to exit the club. https://stv.tv/sport/football/1421043-rangers-and-roma-reach-agreement-on-umar-sadiq-deal/
