SPFL POTY & YPOTY Nominations

Recommended Posts

Candieas is a hard-working committed player, but his crossing is really very poor. He must attempt 15 crosses a game and a very low percentage hit their mark. I took count at one recent home game and he had put in 10 crosses with only 1 going straight to the target. The others were overhit, underhit, defended or blocked.

Not national POTY material in my book. The truth is we have had nobody with any consistency this season that deserved to be included in the honours roll. Some players have had hot patches of form, including Morelos, Tav, McCrorie, Windass even, but nobody has been consistently good. With no proper management at all this season with Pedro & Murty, it is perhaps no surprise that our players have been inconsistent as they have had no leadership to believe in.

Players I have been impressed with this season include Christie at Dolly, Boyd at Killie, McGinn at Hibs, and the best bheast player for me is always Rogic.

Brown is one of the worst football players I have ever seen. A bully who charges into opponents at every opportunity. Forrest is just a wee fat winger whose brother caused us more problems in one game than he has in about 10 OF games.

I have always laughed at POTY nominees/winners, both from players and press. The final straw for me was in 2005 when the gave a joint award to Ricksen and Hartson. Neither player were in the top 5 performers in their club that year, never mind the two best in the country.

Any player getting 15 crosses in a match is dangerous.

Candeias has much better stats as the lost neck monster but I am not sure how Forrest can have more shots on target but Candeias has a better shooting accuracy. That is strange.

Its quite simple Pete, Forrest has had 33 shots at goal, while Candieas has had only 24 shots at goal.

I would love to see the 223 "successful" crosses in a video montage, as I only see about 2 or 3 per game reach their intended target.
