Rangers in the market to sign Usain Bolt

Recommended Posts

Bookies put the Scottish club among the clubs linked with the Olympic Champion.

Over the last decade, Usain Bolt has been very outspoken about his footballing potential, and finally his talk appears to be paying off. The Olympic legend has recently been training with German giants Borussia Dortmund but has yet to be snapped up on a full-time basis by any club. However, Betfair believe it’s only a matter of time before Bolt makes his professional debut, as they’ve listed seven different playing options for the Jamaican.

Rather surprisingly, Rangers have been priced as one of the options for the retired sprinter. The bookies have given the Scottish club a small chance to pull off the coup, pricing them at 33/1. Bolt’s actual ability isn’t the main attraction for his signature. The Jamaican has 8.3m Instagram followers, 5.13m Twitter followers and 19.2m Facebook likes, making him a huge commercial opportunity.

Borussia Dortmund are the 6/4 favourites to sign Bolt following his trial period, following that he’s 11/4 to join Zlatan in the MLS and 4/1 to take the big money move to China.
