What's this got to do with Rangers?

Nothing, absolutely nothing. But he has been mentioned in New Manager Rumours thread, better if it was in there or in general football forum.

Stolen from elsewhere, results since Clarke arrived at Killie.

He's done a remarkable job.

That table shows 20 league games and Clarke has been with Kilmarnock for 24 league games.

The 4 other league games were: DDLW

Rangers (A) 1-1

Celtic (A) 1-1

Hibs (H) 0-3

Hearts (A) 1-3

It's ironic that his first game was at Ibrox (1-1) and it was also Pedro's last game.

It's too obvious that he's our best realistic name as manager.

Today they won their 6th league game IAR.

To put that into context, celtic have only managed a run of 3 wins IAR this season.

We have done 4IAR, twice.

Said it before, say it again: it is far  easier to build a team set up for breaking up play, soak up pressure en masse, and hit on the counter. Get a measure of your squad, make some fine-tuning, drill them well and you have a recipe for relative success. With a few good resulst, you get confidence and might be able to beat teams of a similar standard too. That is what Clarke has done and kudos to him.

At Ibrox, you have to beat such a style 8 out of 11 times you play, while alos being aware of beating teams who want to play football, i.e. "the rest". Warburton didn't cope with that, Caixinha didn't, and right now, after a decent enough start, Murty also seems unable to cope. It sure has to do with the players you have available and I reckon PC's season might have been different, had Jack and McCrorie stayed fit. Same with Murty, BTW.

It is anyone's guess whether a Clarke or anyone else will be able to improve our fortunes here. As has been said above, the team as such is far closer to chasing the Scum than is being made out.
