Rangers flop Eduardo Herrera set for quick-fire Mexico return with Chivas

The 29-year-old has barely featured this season and he's well down the pecking order after the arrival of Jason Cummings.

Rangers misfit Eduardo Herrera is set to head back to Mexico with Chivas ready to pounce for his signature this summer.

The striker was signed by former flop Ibrox manager Pedro Caixinha last year in a £1.5 million deal from Pumas.

But the 29-year-old Mexico international has netted just two goals all season for Rangers and only one of them was in the league, way back in August at Ross County.

He's well down the pecking order now, after the arrival of on loan Scotland star Jason Cummings and hasn't featured in the league this year under Graeme Murty.

Now Chivas have made an enquiry to see if Rangers will allow him to return once the transfer window reopens.

Chivas tried to buy Herrera two years ago, but his club at the time, Pumas, demanded too much money.

Herrera signed a three-year deal on the same day as countryman Carlos Pena, who is back home on loan at Caixinha's Cruz Azul until the end of the season.

Now the Guadalajara club are set to make a move to allow Rangers to cut their losses on the striker.

Hopefull he can take Fabio Cardoso, Lee Hodson, Niko Kranjcar, Dalcio Gomez, Michael O'Halloran, Joe Dodoo and Jordan Rossiter with him. Makes you realise how much rebuilding is still to be done.

Hasn't been given any realistic game time but good luck to him if and when he goes.

Yeah, good luck to him. Any time he did get game time he never showed any semblance of a player. We were conned on this one. FFS!

You can see that he's just not cut out to play in our country.   Might well be a decent player in his home country, or even in a slower and more technical league.

A classic Pedro misjudgement.
